About

Why This Exists.

The STEM+Hub started as a working STEM hub inside a university engineering school in Fall 2023, and deliberately evolved from wow-factor programming into curriculum-aligned engagement with outcomes someone could trace. Along the way it became clear the hard part was never the activities.

The conviction

Capability, Not a Grant Cycle

The organizations that most need a functioning STEM program are usually the ones with the least ability to build one. Schools with development offices get the grants. Districts with staff capacity get the partnerships. The gap widens every year that the well-resourced get better at this and the under-resourced do not.

You do not close that with more one-off events. You close it by giving an organization the same operating system a well-resourced one built over a decade — in a form they can actually run, at a price they can actually pay.

That is why the model is a product rather than a program: priced fairly, transferring capability instead of renting it out. It is also why our Ambassadors are paid a flat rate regardless of what a client paid, and why a sponsored organization enters the same ladder as everyone else.

The test we hold ourselves to

Success is measured by what you can do without us.

We are not trying to be there forever. Let us get you started, let us set you up, and when you want to level up, bring us back. Every gate in the method is written to make that testable rather than aspirational — which is why Handover closes only when your named owner and their named backup both accept in writing.

What we are notNot an outreach office. Not a charity arm. Not a research grant. A teaching clinic funds itself by being useful, and it ends when the client can run the thing.
Boundaries

Stated Before You Have to Ask

Vagueness here is what gets people in trouble. These are contract terms, not preferences, and none of them is waivable at any tier, any price, or any lead time.

No Ambassador Is Ever Alone With Minors

A single undergraduate supervising other people’s children at an off-site location is the largest liability in this model, and the kind of failure that ends a program rather than costing it money.

The floor, written into every agreementEither a designated staff member of yours present at all times for the full duration, named in advance with contact details on file — which burns one credit. Or two Ambassadors deployed together where you cannot supply that coverage, which burns two, and you will be told why.

No Deployment Without Coverage in Force

Abuse and molestation liability is excluded from standard general liability and requires standalone cover. No Ambassador goes to a site with minors present until that policy is bound and the certificate is on file.

Why it is also a safety commitmentUnderwriters price on controls: background checks, supervision rules, documented response protocols, training records. The safeguarding rules are simultaneously a safety commitment, a contract term, and a premium lever — which is the alignment you want.

No Student Data. Ever.

No prospective or enrolled student information from any institution enters our system. Not rosters, not applicants, not minors’ contact information. Aggregate counts only.

How it stays settledIt is settled in the account architecture rather than in policy, because a field that exists will eventually get filled.

What We Require of You, We Require of Ourselves

Groups visiting a hub are asked for one chaperone per ten students and a designated on-site leader. Going to your site does not reverse that obligation — it moves it into our contract.

What it tells usAn organization unwilling to put one of their own people in the room with our Ambassador and their children has told us something useful about the engagement.
Independence

What the STEM+Hub Owns

The STEM+Hub name, the methodology, and everything built on top of them are independently owned and available for independent commercial use.

University affiliation is part of the founder’s biography and it is real credibility — having built this inside an engineering school is why the method exists. It is not the offering, and the STEM+Hub mark never appears locked up with a university logo.

Where We Work

Louisville, Kentucky. Ambassador Days are delivered on your site within fifty miles as standard; beyond that radius, travel and lodging bill at cost and are never forecast.

Nothing in the blueprint requires our building. Once a program architecture is documented well enough to hand to a stranger, it runs in a high school makerspace in another state as easily as it runs here.
